BBR Space Light Color Vol. 1 ⢠45rpm Reference Grade Test Pressing Edition ā First Galvanic Growth (20 Copies)
This limited edition features the 20 official Test Pressings derived from the First Galvanic Growth. It's the same mold from which the 300-piece run was created, but with the added benefit of the absolute freshness of the groove.
The technical value of Test Pressing
In the audiophile world, the Test Pressing represents the specimen with the greatest structural integrity. Being the very first records to come off the press, these 20 specimens benefit from an pristine matrix, which guarantees a transient response and background silence that cannot be replicated in subsequent pressings.
Sustainability and Performance: 140gr. Bio Vinyl
The chosen medium is 140g Bio Vinyl, printed at Optimal. This solution combines environmental friendliness with an extremely quiet and dense compound, essential for reference-level listening.
Why 140 grams? The choice of precision.
In a reference-grade production, every detail must contribute to the sound reproduction. The choice of the 140-gram format is not a compromise, but a precise technical decision linked to the quality of the optimal pressing:
-
Thermal Stability:Ā A 140 gram record cools more evenly and quickly than a 180 gram record. This process allows the Bio Vinyl compound to stabilize perfectly, eliminating the risk of micro-shrinkages in the material that cause background noise.
-
Groove Geometry:Ā The 140g weight ensures optimal media flatness. A perfectly flat surface allows the stylus to trace the groove with maximum linearity, drastically reducing mechanical distortion.
-
Transient Response:Ā Thanks to the density achieved with the 140g pressing, the vinyl returns a faster and more precise response, essential for capturing the dynamic details of our full analog mastering.
Technology and Format
The 45 rpm format ensures maximum dynamic range and spatial resolution without saturation. The first-stage galvanic process allows every detail of the analog mastering to be transferred to vinyl, eliminating the duplication steps that typically increase background noise.
Exclusive Packaging and Contents
The edition is presented in a prestigious luxury box made of CialuxĀ® canvas, an excellent material that guarantees perfect preservation and a superior tactile aesthetic. Every detail of the packaging is designed to reflect the technical value of its contents, which include:
-
Numbered Certificate of Authenticity, guaranteeing that it belongs to the 20 Test Pressing specimens.
-
16-page booklet with previously unpublished content on the genesis of the work.
-
Technical notes by producer and recording engineer Massimo Piantini and mastering engineer Lorenzo Vella, with an in-depth analysis of the analog chain and the dynamic advantages of 45 rpm transfer.
Main features:

Space Light Color Vol. 1 - Vinyl (BBR & BlueMoon Records Edition)
A work that embodies the art of sound, born of rigor and the utmost fidelity. It is the culmination of a solid synergy between Bird Box Records (BBR), a beacon of pure analog sound, andĀ Bruno Fazzini and Massimo Piantini'sĀ BlueMoon Records .
The two companies, with over forty years of combined experience, share a singular vision: "to capture and recreate sound with the fidelity and pure emotion of a live performance."
Space Light Color Vol. 1Ā features no new tracks, but taps into the heart of our collective musical memory, offering new and intimate interpretations of iconic songs.
This album is a journey through hits ranging from jazz to pop-rock:
Side AĀ : Includes tracks that resonate with history, such as the energetic "Tequila," the intense "Killing Me Softly with His Song," and the celebrated "From the Beginning" (made famous by artists such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer). We also find the catchy "Georgy Porgy."
Side BĀ : Continues with classics such as "Black Queen," the evergreen "On Broadway," and the romantic standard "My Funny Valentine," concluding with the jazz homage to Charles Mingus, "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat."
Each piece is presented here through the unique lens of the Acoustic Workshop, transforming well-known songs into new sonic experiences, rich in ambient realism and analog dynamics.
A Sound Experience of Maximum Dynamics and Realism:
-
The Venue:Ā The album captures the essence of a historic performance recorded in a unique and evocative setting: the Il Cassero Museum, Monte San Savino.
-
Environmental Realism:Ā Thanks to careful recording and subsequent processing, the album offers a surprising sense of environmental realism, allowing the listener to perceive the spatiality and acoustics of the recording location.
-
High Fidelity Mastering:Ā The original 2002 recording has been recovered and optimized for vinyl through a meticulous analog mastering process on 1/2-inch tape, handled at Nightingale Studios.
-
This process ensures great dynamics and allows the vinyl to retain its original impact and depth, enhancing the full dynamics of the music, as captured on the master.
-
To ensure maximum signal integrity and purity, audiophile-grade equipment was used, such as the legendary Ampex ATR102 reel-to-reel tape recorder and tube and solid-state mastering outboards.
An essential work for the audiophile seeking the unadulterated emotion of live performance and the absolute purity of analogue sound.
Ā
Recorded at the Cassero Museum in Monte San Savino, Italy, in June 2002. Mastered at Nightingale Studios in Palombara Sabina (Rome), August 2025.
The sonic essence, captured in its digital purity (DAT), was then sculpted and finalized on an Analog Master Tape (1/2 inch): the beating heart of this vinyl edition.
Lacquer Cut by Roberto Barbolini. Master on lacquer made on a Neumann VMS 70 lathe and Ortofon Type Dsa 731 cutting head. The signal is managed in preamplification by the Neumann SAL 74B, Audio Research VT60 tube power amplifier and cutting head and RIAA encoder.
